Pinnacles
Peak's Island, Maine
This series of ink, pastel and china marker drawings records the delicate balance of the ad hoc rock sculptures that appear occasionally on the ocean side of the island.
The pinnacles exist as long as the ocean, atmosphere, gravity, or pinnacle-destroyers allow them to stay, eventually returning to their rock-strewn base, to be made anew.
NIAE Fellowship: Drawings of Italian Architecture.
The requirement of the fellowship from the National Institute for Architectural Education was to graphically record the travel-research experience. Poss devised an often-repeated sequential drawing method of pencil-ink-pastel-erasure as a systematic and portable process.
